A visit to Bono’s Ireland

Last October, we embarked on a road trip to Dublin to record a piece on Bono with Norah O’Donnell for CBS News. In this interview, Bono talks about the people and places that shaped him during his former years, as well as his latest memoir ‘Surrender’. Among the places visited are his current home, the Finnegans of Dalkey pub, the school where U2 was formed (Mount Temple Comprehensive School) and his childhood home in Cedarwood Road. Additionally, the interview features a segment with Bono’s wife, Ali Hewson.

We were responsible for capturing every angle and every detail, which is why we opted for a terrestrial mode of transporation; our van was packed with all the gear we needed, and even things that were probably not necessary – just in case. We used a combination of two Sony FX9s, two Sony FX3 and a Sony FX6 mounted on a Freefly Movi Pro.
